Benchmarks for identifying problems
| Component | Condition | Normal Voltage | Report a Problem |
|---|---|---|---|
| Battery | Engine off (idle) | 12.4–12.7 V | Less than 12.2V = battery is dead |
| Battery | Engine running | 13.5–14.5 V | Less than 13.5 V = faulty alternator |
| Alternator | Engine idling | 13.8–14.2 V | More than 15 V = faulty regulator |
| Alternator | Engine at 2000 RPM | 14.0–14.5 V | Unstable voltage = damaged diodes |
| Start | During startup | 9.5–10.5 V | Less than 9V = low battery or faulty cables |
| Standby power consumption | Engine off, everything locked | 25–50 mA | More than 75 mA = current leakage |

We identify the exact cause of your electrical problems
We use digital multimeters, battery analyzers, and oscilloscopes to pinpoint the exact cause. We don’t guess—we diagnose.
Is your car won't start? We'll come to your location with batteries and alternators. You don't need a tow truck for common electrical problems.
Wiring problems can be hard to find. We have experience tracking down short circuits and faulty connections.
We install batteries and alternators from reputable brands that come with a warranty. We do not use low-quality parts that fail prematurely.
This includes electrical system diagnostics, battery testing and installation, alternator and starter motor repair, wiring diagnostics, installation of electrical accessories, and lighting system repair.
Common signs: difficulty starting the car, flickering lights, a dead battery, a burning smell, fuses that blow repeatedly, accessories that don't work, and the battery light coming on.
A typical battery lasts 3–5 years, depending on the climate and usage. In Indiana, with its hot summers and cold winters, they may not last as long. We recommend testing the battery annually after 3 years.
If the lights are dim, it's the battery. If the car starts with jumper cables but stalls when you disconnect them, or if a new battery drains quickly, it's the alternator. A voltmeter should read 13.5–14.5 V with the engine running.
